Tennis Opens Season at Fairfield Doubles Festival

Setting the Scene
The Rhode Island tennis team opened up the 2011 season on Saturday at the Fairfield Doubles Festival. The festival - which featured teams from Bryant, Connecticut, Fairfield, Hartford, Providence, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island and Sacred Heart - consisted of three flights of doubles play where teams opened with round robin play and advanced through to the finals.

Top Performers
Senior Pam Emery and freshman Kathleen Uy - who represented URI in Flight One - advanced through to the championship match, where they fell to Quinnipiac, 8-4.
