Jessee Announces Signing of Four Student-Athletes For 2018 Season

Kingston, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's soccer program has announced their 2018 signing class on Wednesday. Four student-athletes have made the decision to continue their academic and athletic futures at the University of Rhode Island.

"I am excited for these four student-athletes to join our Rhode Island women's soccer family. Each player brings a unique skill set that will help take this program to the next level. It is a small class but one that will compliment the core of players that are already apart of the program." - Rhode Island Head Coach Megan Jessee.

Expected Major: Criminology and Criminal Justice

Club: Member of the Connecticut Football Club … Member of Arsenal U12-U14 and United ECNL U15-U18 … Member of the Connecticut Olympic Development Program and ODP Regional Camps.

High School: Attended Saint Joseph High School … Four year starter as a center back for the soccer team and earned four varsity letters … Captained her senior year … Scored nine goals in her senior season, 26 in her career … Earned All-FCIAC Honors (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) … Named All-State (2016, 2017) … Named All-New England (2017) … Named to the CGSA Team of the Year (2017) … FCIAC Scholar Athlete (2017) … Participated in the High School All-American Game in Orlando, Fla. High School: Member of the Westford Academy Soccer team and was on varsity all four years … Captained her senior season … Led her team in scoring with 16 goals and 10 assists her senior year … Named Team MVP … Earned Dual County League All-Star … Selected to the Eastern Massachusetts All-Star Team … State Finalist (2017) … Division I North Sectional Champions … Division I Eastern Massachusetts Championship Finalist … Earned the Academic Achievement Award (2016, 2017) … Was a Peer Leader her sophomore through senior year … Volunteered at Shelters with WA Barc … Member of DECA.

Head Coach Megan Jessee on Rebecca: "Rebecca is a tough attacking player who will add another element to our attack. She is a quick and dynamic forward that will help us get behind defenses and score goals. She has a great work ethic and passion for the game that I am excited to add to our team."

Head Coach Megan Jessee on Grace: "Grace is a tough defender who will help us build a strong defense. Her ability to pass out of the back will help start our attacks from our defensive half. She is also a physical defender that is not afraid to go hard in on a goal saving tackle. Grace is a hard working player with great leadership skills."
