KINGSTON, R.I. -- Since the start of the 2013-14 academic year, local, regional, and national businesses have continued to come on board as partners with the University of Rhode Island.
Rhode Island Athletics, The Thomas M. Ryan Center, Bradford R. Boss Ice Arena, and Nelligan Sports Marketing are proud to announce the newest partners for 2013-14. To date, there has been a record amount of new businesses to join in the excitement.
New partners for this year include: Burger Shack, Coventry Lumber, Hal’s Auto Body & Collision Center, Haxton Liquors, Kingston Auto Sales, Law Offices of Stephen J. Dennis, Matunuck Oyster Bar, Moe’s Southwest Grill, New England Lemonade, Newport Propane, Northwestern Mutual, Rhode Island Turnpike & Bridge Authority, Rhody Fresh, Savings Institute Bank and Trust, The Pizza Gourmet, and The Village Inn.

Both new partners and existing have recognized the value with URI’s fan base. Nationally, college sports have the second largest fan base, with over 190 million fans. Additionally, 89 million female fans consider themselves college sports fans, outnumbering any other professional sports league. Lastly, 31 million fans earn a household income of over $100,000, making them the most affluent and diverse fan base in all of sports.
Beyond the massive fan base numbers, University of Rhode Island fans are intensely passionate about their Keaney Blue and support of their sports teams. The tight bonds between fans and schools are lifelong, a connection that carries over to supporting team sponsors.
