KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Rhode Island athletics department is excited to announce a partnership with the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce.
"Rhody Athletics is proud to partner with the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce and our local business community," said Thorr Bjorn, URI's director of athletics. "With so many outstanding businesses represented with the Chamber, this association speaks to our commitment of partnering with the local community."
With the partnership, the SKCC and URI will collaborate on a number of promotional efforts, including weekly email blasts, quarterly newsletters, and chamber events - including First Friday Coffee, Network at Noon, and Business After Hours Programming.
"The South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce is excited about this partnership with URI athletics," said SKCC executive director Joe Iacoi. "We are proud supporters of our hometown NCAA Division I programs and making it a win-win for our State University and our Greater South Kingstown Business Community."
Celebrating its 77th Anniversary, the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce serves a membership of over 600 businesses (profit and not-profit) and takes the lead in transforming South Kingstown into an engine of economic development and diversity in Southern Rhode Island. The SKCC's offices are located at 230 Old Tower Hill Road in Wakefield.
