PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team placed 12th overall at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship, held at Belmont Park in Philadelphia today.

The Rams compiled 317 points en route to their 13th place finish. La Salle captured the team title, with 529 points.

Leading the way for the Rams this afternoon was Mary Najarian. She placed 38th overall, covering the five-kilometer course in a time of 20:20.0. Brittany Pelsue was the second URI finisher, placing 61st in a time of 20:48.0. Kat Allard was 72nd in a time of 20:57.0, while Dominique Lee was 80th overall, clocking 21:08.0. Kayla Murphy rounded out the Rhody scorers, in 97nd place (21:36.0).

Catlin Demchko (102nd, 21:58.0), Lindsay Post (115th, 22:19.0), Michele Lauer (116th, 22:20.0), Meredith Hannon (123rd, 22:52.0), Erica Planamento (126th, 23:27.0), Amy Krajewski (128th, 23:55.0), and Katrina Hines (133rd, 25:23.0) rounded out the URI finishers. Christina De Rosa of Massachusetts won the individual title in a time of 18:27.0.
