Ryan Leads Rams to Fourth Place Finish at CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team placed fourth at the CCSU Mini Meet, held at Stanley Quarter Park.
The Rams totaled 128 points on the afternoon. Quinnipiac won the meet, with a total of 32 points.
Leading the way for URI was Niamh Ryan, who placed sixth overall. Ryan covered the three-kilometer (1.8 miles) course in a time of 10:26.69.
Brittany Pelsue was 16th overall, crossing the finish line in a time of 10:48.67. Caitrin Demchko was 27th, clocking 10:59.67. Erica Planamento (50th, 11:33.45) and Alyssa Namey (59th, 11:41.27).
Rounding out the URI finishers, Samantha Gagnon was 60th (11:42.15), Dom Lee was 62nd (11:46.33) and Rebecca Wright was 74th (12:06.85).
Next up for Rhode Island is the Atlantic 10 Championship, held on Oct. 31 at Forest Park in St. Louis, Mo.
