ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team placed 12th in the championship division race at the 41st Annual Albany XC Invitational.

The Rams totalled 336 points. Harvard took home the team title, with 42 points.

Leading the way for the Rams this afternoon was Mary Najarian. The freshman finished in 53rd place overall, clocking 18:54.2 for the five-kilometer course. Brittany Pelsue finished 72nd overall, in a time of 19:15.6. Michele Lauer and Dominique Lee were close behind, finishing in 75th (19:24.3) and 80th (19:26.6), respectively. Kathryn Allard rounded out the Rhody scorers, with her 82nd place finish (19:28.0). UMass' Christina DeRosa won the race in a time of 17:21.7.

Rhody returns to action on Oct. 27 at the Atlantic 10 Championship at Belmont Park in Philadelphia.
