SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The University of Rhode Island women's cross country team finished second overall at the Bryant Invitational.

The Rams totaled 50 points, behind team titleist Brown, which compiled 16 points. Race conditions were rainy and windy, due to the incoming nor'easter in the region.

Leading the way for the Rams was freshman Emily Zaccardi, who finished fifth overall and covered the hilly five-kilometer course in a time of 20:05.34. Brittany Pelsue was seventh, clocking 20:28.65. Kathryn Allard was 10th overall, crossing the finish line in 20:29.71.

Amy Krajewski (18th, 21:17.96) and Caitrin Demchko (22nd, 21:50.41) rounded out the URI scorers. Jen Gryzbinski (34th, 23:51.30) and Kathryn Hines (36th, 25:13.66) rounded out the URI finishers.

URI returns to action on Oct. 11 at Franklin Park in Boston for the New England Championship
