Nelson Named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island volleyball freshman Annie Nelson was named Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week by the league office on Monday.

Nelson (Rockford, Ill.) helped the Rams to a 2-1 record this past week as she averaged 9.09 assists per set to lead the Rams.

Nelson opened the week with 24 assists in URI's 3-0 win at home against Providence (Oct. 27). She then added 39 helpers in a 3-2 loss at Duquesne (Oct. 30) before finishing out the week with a match-high 37 assists in a 3-0 sweep over George Washington (Nov. 1).

Rhody returns to action on Friday at 7 p.m. as it travels to Dayton.
