Rhody Takes Down La Salle at Home, 3-0

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island volleyball team (10-16; 3-10 Atlantic 10) swept past La Salle to pick up its second victory over the Explorers this season.

Junior Lauren McIntosh led the way offensively with nine kills as she hit posted an attack percentage of .538.

Senior Caitlyn Welsh and sophomore Kayla Wilson also chipped in with seven kills apiece. Wilson finished the match with a team-high attack percentage of .600.

Junior Kalyn Klaess led the way defensively 14 digs.

As a team, Rhody outhit the Explorers .350-.089 as it handed La Salle its 14th conference loss of the season.

URI posted set victories of 25-22 (game one), 25-12 (game two) and 25-15 (game three) to pick up its third sweep in its last five matches.

Rhody returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday as it heads to nationally-ranked Saint Louis.
