Rams Fall Short at Dayton, 3-0

DAYTON, Ohio - The Rhode Island volleyball team (9-16; 2-10 Atlantic 10) fell in three straight games at Dayton on Friday night.

Juniors Lauren McIntosh and Kayla Wilson led the way offensively with five kills apiece. Freshman setter Annie Nelson also chipped in with 14 assists.

Defensively, junior Kalyn Klaess tallied 12 digs.

In the opening set, URI trailed 17-11 in the early going, but the Rams fought back to take a one point lead at 21-20. Dayton would then respond by winning five of the last six points to claim a 25-22 victory in game one.

Dayton would then go on to win games two (25-15) and three (25-11) to close out the match.

Rhody returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. as it welcomes La Salle to Keaney Gymnasium.
