Rachel Bello enters her first year as an assistant coach with the University of Rhode Island volleyball staff. She will handle all tape exchange duties, road trip activities, practice times for home and road contests, and facility management. She joins the Rams staff after working with Head Coach Bob Schneck's boys club team, the Little Rhodys.

Bello was a four-year letterwinner under Schneck at URI, finishing her career with 921 kills. While attending Rhode Island, Bello was an assistant camp director for Schneck, where she organized tournaments and handled all camper, coach, and facilities responsibilities. She was also involved with the planning of day-to-day activities.

Bello began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach Schneck with the Little Rhodys in 2003. In 2005, she was promoted to assistant coach, where she helped organize and run practice and also traveled with the team.

She served as assistant director of the Little Rhodys summer camp in 2005 and 2006, assisting the head coach in practice and holding extra workout sessions for campers.

A native of Wyckoff, NJ, Bello was a four-year captain at Ramapo High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She will receive her Kinesiology degree from Rhode Island in December.
