KINGSTON, R.I. -- Three members of the University of Rhode Island women's outdoor track & field team - Jasmine Jennings, Sarah Thornton and TyLynn Graham - earned 2008 All-East regional honors.

To be considered for the All-Region team, a student-athlete must place in the top eight of his/her respective event and that student-athlete's institution must be a current paid member of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Jennings captured the hammer throw at the 2008 NCAA East Regional championship, held on May 31, with a throw of 205-06 (62.64m). By virtue of her victory, she earned a trip to the 2008 NCAA Championship.

Thornton earned All-East honors in two events - the discus and hammer throws. On May 30, Thornton finished seventh overall in the discus with a throw of 161-11 (49.35m). The following day, she was eighth in the hammer, with a toss of 182-08 (55.69m).

Graham cleared a height of 5-07.25 (1.71m) in the high jump on May 31, good for a share of eighth place at the East regional.
