The Rhode Island women's indoor track & field team finished first at the URI Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 3. Senior Caitlin Hurley led the way for the Rams with first-place finishes and New England-qualifying marks in both the 55m dash (7.19) and the 200m dash (25.74). Her personal-best time in the 55-meters also qualified her for the ECAC's and was the fourth-best individual time by a Rhody runner.

The Rams posted six other first-place marks en route to the win. Freshman Sarah Conroy turned in a season-best and New England-qualifying 5-05.00 in the high jump, as did sophomore TyLynn Graham. Graham also went on to capture the 55m hurdles in a New England-qualifying and personal-best 8.44 seconds. The time also marked the ninth-best all-time URI individual performance.

Freshman Stephanie Gregory claimed the pole vault with a personal-best (and URI's eighth-best all-time) height of 10-00.00. In the 500m dash, senior Kolleen McCauley placed first with a time of 1:20.17, while junior Katie Kostiew won the shot put with an indoor personal-best 41-03.00 toss.

Rhody also claimed the 4x400m relay, as freshman Natatia Nugent, junior Kristen McGill, sophomore Amy Krajewski and junior Kristin Calamita combined for a time of 4:06.04.

Also posting New England-qualifying marks were sophomore Kathy Young in the 55m dash (personal-best 7.28), classmate Khabria Hundley in the 55m dash (7.38) and the 200m dash (25.95) and junior Sarah Thornton in the weight throw (50-05.05).

The Rams return to action next Saturday, Feb. 10, when they travel to Boston University for the Valentine's Classic at 10:00 a.m.
