Rams Finish Second at New England Outdoor Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. — The Rhode Island women's track & field team finished second to Northeastern in the New England Championship by just .5 points. The Huskies (102.5) took first followed by the Rams, (102) New Hampshire, (74) SCSU, (55) and UMass, (53) to round out the top five.

Heptathlon

  • Janel Conley placed first in the heptathlon, scoring 5362 points. The senior placed first in the long jump, (19' .75") first in the 100 meter hurdles, (14.07s) first in the high jump, (5' 7.75") second in the javelin, (111' 5") third in the 800 meters, (2:24.41) third in the shot put, (35' 7.25") and third in the 200 meter dash, (25.73s).
  • Hannah Madison finished fourth, totaling 4934 points. She placed first in the javelin, (136' 6") second in the high jump, (5' 6.5") fifth in the 800 meters, (2:26.48) fifth in the 100 meter hurdles, (15.25s) seventh in the long jump, (16' 11.5") seventh in the 200 meter dash, (26.30s) and ninth in the shot put, (29' 10").
