Bourque Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Championship

DES MOINES, Iowa - Rhode Island senior Crystal Bourque earned All-America honors as she finished 16th in the hammer at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Drake University.
A native of Coventry, R.I., Bourque opened with her best toss, recording a distance of 56.94/186-9. She joins Jasmine Jennings '09 (hammer) as the only other Rhody women's track & field performer be named an All-American.
The competition was won by Virginia Tech's Dorotea Habazin, who won the NCAA crown with a third round throw of 68.15/223-7.
