Stephanie Maugham Crowned New England Outdoor Pole Vault Champion

DEDHAM, Mass. - Senior Stephanie Maugham captured the New England Outdoor Pole Vault title with a jump of 11'10.5" today.

Maugham, who won the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship with a meet record vault of 12'5" on May 6, captures her third New England crown. She was the indoor pole vault champion in 1998 and 1999.

The Rams, who are coming off a second-place finish at the conference championship, finished fifth overall out of 25 teams.

Senior Michelle Trefz placed second in the 100-meter hurdles while freshmen Natalie Popowicz and Jen Haigh were runners-up in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.73) and the javelin (141'07"), respectively.
