Rams Ease Past Fordham, 7-0

WAKEFIELD, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's tennis team turned in a 7-0 win over Fordham, Wednesday afternoon, at Broad Rock Middle School. The Rams won two-of-three doubles matches before sweeping singles play.
Sophomore twins Kirsten Leikem and Tristany Leikem posted an 8-2 win at first doubles while juniors Christen Cadigan and Brooke Hoover were flawless at No. 2, winning 8-0. Sophomore Michelle Dussol and junior Jenna Williams, meanwhile, dropped a tough 8-5 decision at No. 3.
In singles, Kirsten Leikem, sophomore Pam Emery, Tristany Leikem, Cadigan, Amanda Barletta and Brooke Hoover each recorded straight-set victories at the No. 1 thru No. 6 positions, respectively.
Rhode Island closes out its fall dual-match schedule with a 4-1 record. Leikem, Leikem and Emery will return to action beginning Friday, when they travel to Yale to take part in the ITA Regionals.
