KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's tennis used a 7-0 blanking of Monmouth to improve to 5-0 on the season, Sunday afternoon at the URI Tennis Courts.

Rhody earned the doubles point as Kirsten Leikem and Tristany Leikem paired up for an 8-5 win at No. 1 while Valerie Chacon and Grace Hedstrom shut out their opponents at No. 2 (8-0) and Amanda Barletta and Christen Cadigan picked up an 8-2 victory at No. 3.

The Rams went on to take all six singles matches in straight sets as Tristany Leikem, Kirsten Leikem, Cadigan, Chacon, Barletta and Hedstrom earned W's at No. 1-6, respectively.

Rhody is back in action on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 22) when it travels to Wellesley for a 3 p.m. match.
