Monroeville, Pa. - The sixth-seeded Rhode Island women's tennis team suffered a 4-3 loss to seventh-seeded Charlotte, Saturday afternoon at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Amanda Barletta and Kristen Liu were victorious in both singles and doubles.

Barletta and Liu paired up for Rhody's lone doubles win - a 8-5 besting of Kimber Redfern and Gavi Vargara at No. 3.

In singles, Barletta defeated Redfern (6-3, 6-1) while Liu took down Vargara (7-5, 6-0). Rhody's only other solo `win' came from Brooke Hoover - who won via forfeit at No. 6.

The loss ties Rhode Island with Duquesne for a seventh-place finish at the A-10 Championship.
