2008 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Day One Results Get Acrobat Reader

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The University of Rhode Island women's swimming & diving team set a pair varsity records on the first day of competition at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving meet at St. Bonaventure University in New York. The Rams finished day one in eighth-place with 40 points.

The URI 800-yard freestyle relay team of freshmen Lillian Falconer (Chicago, Ill.) and Kinsey Tarbell (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), along with juniors Kelsey Foy (Fanwood, N.J.) and Martha Ziolkowski (Toronto, Ontario), placed ninth with a new varsity record time of 7:45.79. They tandem broke the previous mark by two seconds. Additionally, Falconer swam the first leg of the race in 1:53.55, which established a new school-record for the 200-yard freestyle.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of senior Caitlin Regan (Cranston, R.I.), freshman Samantha Veccia (Medford, N.Y.), senior Julie Kent (Ocala, Fla.), and freshman Alexandra Lalli (Middletown, R.I.) posted an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:48.76.
