Rhody to Take Part in Swim Across America

KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island women's swimming and diving team will participate in the Swim Across America event for the American Cancer Society on Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. at Roger Wheeler Beach.
Members of the URI women's swimming and diving team will participate under the name Team Harold Anderson to honor the former URI swimming official and founder of the Rhode Island Aquatic Hall of Fame, who passed away this past summer from cancer.
Team Anderson will consist of recreational, collegiate and Olympic swimmers who will be swimming to support cancer research, prevention and treatment for the local beneficiary Women and Infants Hospital.
Head coach Mick Westkott and assistant coach Colin Shannahan as well as URI alums will take part in the swim.
