Swimming Defeats Montclair State and Providence at home

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's swimming and diving team won 11 individual events on Saturday en route to a 198.00-82.00 victory over Montclair State and a 181.00-97.00 triumph against Providence at the Tootell Aquatic Center.
The Rams opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay (1:53.95) for the second straight week.
Sophomore Kinsey Tarbell (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) collected three individual wins for the second straight week. Tarbell claimed first in the 50 (25.25), 200 (1:56.13) and 500 (5:17.01) freestyle events.
Fellow sophomores Lilli Falconer (Chicago, Ill.) and Samantha Veccia (Medford, N.Y.) won a pair of events.
Falconer took first in the 100 freestyle (54.90) and the 200 yard butterfly (2:14.27), while Veccia earned first-place finishes in the 100 (1:09.83) and 200 yard breaststroke (2:30.40) events.
Junior Kelly Mohr (Meriden, Conn.) once again took the top spot in the one meter dive as she totaled 121.80 points.
Senior Martha Ziolkowski (Toronto, Ontario) and sophomore Melissa Flynn (Andover, N.J) also added victories for the Rams, winning the 200 yard backstroke (2:14.79) and 100 yard butterfly (1:00.56) events, respectively.
Freshman Katie Mangano (Westerly, R.I.) collected her second straight victory in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.06).
The Rams return to action on Nov. 15 (Sat.) as they travel to Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
