Women's Swimming Finishes 3rd In URI Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's swimming & diving team placed third at the University of Rhode Island Invitational, held Jan. 10-11 at the Tootell Aquatic Center.
The Rams scored 371 points to finish ahead of La Salle (314), but behind meet-champion Dartmouth (573.5) and Massachusetts (483.5)(483.5).
The Rhode Island men's swimming & diving team also finished third behind Dartmouth (462) and Massachusetts (392). La Salle took fourth with 299 points.
Sophomore Jodi Tveitmoe (Westminister, Colo.) recorded three second-place finishes in the meet. Tveitmoe finished second in the 200-yard IM in 2:11.79, took second in the 400 IM in 4:37.52 and was the runner-up in the 200 backstroke in 2:11.09.
Junior Kate Grise (Chicopee, Mass.) also recorded a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle in 25.66 seconds.
The Rams, who moved to 5-6 on the season, return to action on Saturday, Jan. 18 at Boston Collee for a 1 p.m. meet.
