DiBussolo's Four RBI Lead Rams Past Siena, 6-1

Box Score

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Sophomore Leah DiBussolo (East Norriton, Pa.) drove in four runs to lead the University of Rhode Island softball team to its fourth-straight win, a 6-2 triumph over Siena College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Rebel Spring Games.

The Rams (4-13) wasted no time scoring as they plated two runners in the first to grab a 2-0 lead. Following a two-out walk to sophomore Melissa Wilson (Longview, Wash.), DiBussolo ripped a triple to score Wilson. Freshman Amanda Sbei (Collegeville, Pa.) followed with a single to plate DiBussolo.

URI tacked on two more runs in the fifth on an RBI single from Wilson and an RBI groundout by DiBussolo, who laced a two-run double in the seventh to cap the scoring for Rhody. Stacie Sueda walked and scored the only Siena run of the afternoon in its half of the seventh.

Freshman Stacey Stanovich (Northbridge, Mass.) worked seven innings for the Rams, allowing just two hits and an unearned run. Jamie Piela took the loss for the Saints, allowing eight hits and six runs (five earned) while walking four and striking out five.

The Rams were slated to complete play at the Rebel Spring Games with a contest against Rider Tuesday afternoon.
