KINGSTON, R.I. -- Three members of the University of Rhode Island women's soccer program earned 2008 All-Atlantic 10 honors, it was announced today by the league office. The league awards were voted on by the 14 head coaches in the A-10.

Sophomore Kaylen Shimoda and freshman Stephanie Santos were both honorable mention All-Conference selections. Shimoda, a defender, started in all 20 games for the Rams this season, tallying three points on three assists. Santos saw action in 19 games - including 14 starts - and registered a team-best six goals and 13 points.

For her efforts in her first season at the collegiate level, Santos was also named to the A-10's All-Rookie team.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jackie Fede earned a spot on the conference's All-Academic team. The Cheshire, Conn. Native holds a 3.86 grade-point average in the field of psychology.
