Women's Soccer
Jen Frisch has joined the University of Rhode Island women's soccer coaching staff, after spending the past season as an assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania. In that role, she helped guide the Quakers to an 8-6-3 overall record in 2008 and had five women earn All-Ivy honors - including first-team selections. Prior to her stint at Penn, Frisch spent the 2007 season as a graduate assistant at New Haven. That season, the Chargers compiled a 12-7-2 overall mark - including an 8-2 record in the East Coast Conference. New Haven advanced to the conference tournament semifinal round before losing to C.W. Post. She also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Siena College during the spring of 2007. A four-year starter for Central Connecticut from 2002-05, Frisch helped the Blue Devils win the Northeast Conference title and advance to the NCAA College Cup first round in each of her four seasons of play. She was a two-time All-NEC First Team selection in 2002 and 2003, earning NSCAA/adidas All-New England honors in 2003. Frisch was also a Second Team All-Regional selection by SoccerBuzz.com that year. Over the course of her career, Frisch scored 12 goals and added six assists while playing in 70 matches for the Blue Devils. After suffering an ACL tear as a junior, she returned to play in more than 20 matches as a senior and earned an invitation to play in the New England Senior Bowl game. She played in the New York State Olympic Development Program (ODP) while at Saratoga Springs H.S. and following her career at CCSU, she played for the Adirondack Lynx of the Women's Soccer Premier League. In addition to her college coaching stints, Frisch has worked at the youth level with the Connecticut Football Club, as head coach of the program's Under-14 team (Impact) and assistant coach with the Under-17 team (Wolves). Frisch has her U.S. Soccer Federation Class (USSF) "D" and "E" licenses, and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) national diploma. She earned her degree in elementary education from Central Connecticut in 2006 and completed her master's degree in management of sports industries at New Haven in the summer of 2008. |
