Geoff Bennett enters his second season in Kingston and has shown that the Rams are certainly headed in the right direction. In just his first season at Rhode Island, the Rams posted a 10-6-2 record The 10 wins represents the sixth-best total in school history.

The former head coach at St. Bonaventure came to Kingston after turning the St. Bonaventure program around in just three short years. The 1999 Atlantic 10 Coach-of-the-Year, Bennett guided the team to a 9-8-3 mark overall and a 5-4-2 record in conference play, earning the school's first conference tournament bid ever. In 1998, Bennett led the team to an 8-10-1 record with a school-record four wins in Atlantic 10 play. The 2000 squad posted a 5-11-3 mark with a 3-6-1 record in conference play.

Prior to arriving in Olean, N.Y., Bennett served as the assistant women's soccer coach at Lafayette and as a head coach at Maryvale Prep and McDonough High School in Baltimore. Active in the community, the gifted young mentor has coached the Western New York Girls Olympic Development program. Bennett holds national and advanced national diplomas from the National Soccer Coaches Association and also directs clinics for the United States Soccer Federation.

A 1995 graduate of Hartwick, Bennett was a standout striker, leading the team in scoring during his sophomore season when he guided the nationally-ranked Hawks to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Wave of the National Professional Soccer League in 1994.
