How it Happened
Rhode Island (0-12-0, 0-4-0 A-10) was shutout for the fifth straight game, falling to Fordham 1-0 Sunday afternoon.

Fordham (7-5, 4-0 A-10) got the game-winner in the 81st minute when Lane Cronin headed a cross from Juliana Mascelli. The header bounced just over the outstretched arms of keeper Haley Brennan. Fordham nearly got on the board just minutes before Cronin's goal. In the 78th minute, Morgan Busacca's shot off a cross went just wide to the right of Brennan.  

Rhode Island managed to get its first shot on goal in the 85th minute, when Grace Haggarty put a ball on net, but Fordham's Kelly Lamorte made the stop. Aysha Bentick had another shot on goal in the final minute, but Lamorte again came up with the stop to preserve the victory.

  • Redshirt junior goalie Haley Brennan kept the Rams in the game, making six saves.
  • Freshman Tory Bike made a key stop for the defense in the 10th minute, preventing a goal by Fordham's Morgan Busacca by heading the ball off the line.
  • Fordham had a 3-0 edge in shots on goal in the opening half. Rhode Island managed five total shots, but none were on target. The shots on goal ended with Fordham holding a 7-2 advantage.
