Evangelista Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Ashley Evangelista was named the Atlantic 10 women's soccer rookie of the week, it was announced today by the conference office.

Evangelista registered six points during a 1-1 weekend for Rhode Island. She scored a goal - her first in a URI uniform - and tallied two assists in a 4-0 victory over Fordham on Oct. 9.

The Methuen, Mass. native added another goal in a 2-1 loss to La Salle on Oct. 11.

She and her Rhody teammates return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14 when they host Brown at the URI Soccer Complex at 4:30 p.m.
