URI Hosts Fordham, La Salle in A-10 Action This Weekend

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island hosts a pair of Atlantic 10 foes this weekend at the URI Soccer Complex.

On Friday night (Oct. 9), the Rams (3-7-1/1-3 A-10) host Fordham at 7 p.m. before taking on La Salle on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.

Rhode Island is coming off an 0-2 weekend, falling 4-1 at Charlotte on Oct. 2 and 1-0 last time out at Saint Louis on Oct. 4. URI is 1-2-1 at home in 2009.

Head coach Zac Shaw saw some promise from his Rhody squad on a tough road trip:

Fordham enters this weekend with a 3-9-1 overall record and a 2-2 mark in A-10 play. The Rams from the Bronx split a pair of conference matches this past weekend, falling 2-0 to Dayton on Oct. 2 and beating Xavier 4-0 on Oct. 4.

La Salle currently holds a 6-5-2 overall mark and an 0-3-1 mark in league action. The Explorers are winless since Sept. 20 and dropped a pair of A-10 matches - 1-0 at home vs. Xavier on Oct. 2 and 2-1 in overtime at home against Dayton on Oct. 4.
