Position: Assistant Coach/Head Novice Coach

The 2008-09 season marks Bridgid Myers' third year with the University of Rhode Island Rowing program. Since the fall of 2006, she has served as an assistant varsity coach and head novice coach at URI. The URI novice squad had a very successful season in 2007-08 - her fifth year of collegiate coaching. She coached the Rams to a second-place finish at Knecht Cup in both the first and second novice 8's, as well as a first-place finish in the first novice eight at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Myers began her career as a volunteer assistant at Wisconsin before moving on to Boston College, where she worked as the head novice coach. Most recently, Myers was the head novice coach at Northeastern University, where she worked with current URI head coach Shelagh Donohoe. An outstanding oarswoman at the University of Wisconsin, Myers was a two-time All-Big Ten selection, CRCA All-Central Region selection, and team captain in 2002. She competed at the Big 10 Championships as well as the 1999 NCAA Championships. Myers graduated from Wisconsin in 2003 with a degree in psychology and a minor in women's studies. She is currently finishing a certificate program in American Sign Language-Deaf Studies from Northeastern University. updated: 7/3/08
