Katie Roberts begins her first season at Rhode Island after joining Shelagh Donohoe’s coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in August 2018.
Roberts comes to Rhode Island after graduating from Old Dominion University with a master’s degree in Physical Education in May 2018. While completing her degree, Roberts served as a Graduate Assistant in the Human Movement Science Department, where she assisted professors in teaching undergraduate classes.
Roberts began her collegiate coaching career with Williams Smith College in Geneva, NY as an Assistant Coach. From 2003-2005, she was responsible for all aspects of off-campus recruiting, as well as helping to develop the yearly training plan.
In addition to coaching at Williams Smith College, Roberts has also spent time with the NCAA DI Clemson Tigers women’s rowing program and coached the boys and girls varsity teams at Norfolk Academy in Virginia.
A three-year member of the Brock University women’s rowing team, Robertson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2003.
