KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island senior Kelly Gurney was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Divsion I Gymnast of the Week, Friday, after leading the Rams to victory over Bridgeport last Saturday.

Gurney took first place in three events en route to a season-high and winning all-around score of 38.900 to lead the Rams to a 189.750-183.650 win over Bridgeport on Senior Night. It was the Rams' highest team score of the year.

Gurney posted career-high scores in winning the uneven bars (9.775) and floor exercise (9.825) and all-around, while also taking first on balance beam (9.650) and second in vault (9.65).

This is the second time that Gurney has garnered the award this season. She also received the award on February 7th after leading the Rams to victory over Brown and Rhode Island College.

Rhode Island travels to Washington D.C. this Sunday to face host George Washington and Ohio State at 1:00 p.m.
