WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Rhode Island gymnastics team defeated the College of William & Mary 192.000-191.000 Friday evening at William & Mary Hall.
The Rams and Tribe each finished with a score of 48.075 on the vault. URI sophomore Ananda Fraser (Diego Martin, Trinidad) tied for first place with a score of 9.750.
Rhode Island won the bars by a score of 48.175-47.850 behind a first-place finish by senior Erica Heaney (North Plainfield, N.J.), who posted a score of 9.875.
URI also won the beam event, 47.450-46.625. Sophomore Danielle Lee (Windsor Locks, Conn.) led the Rams with a score of 9.750 while junior Jordana Ginsburg (Cherry Hill, N.J.) scored a 9.725. The duo finished 1-2 overall.
On the floor, the Tribe picked up a 48.450-48.300 win. The Rams were paced by Fraser , who placed third with a score of 9.750, and Lee, who posted a score of 9.725.
The Rams return to action March 29 when they return to Williamsburg to compete at the ECAC Championship.
