Sophomore Lara Gaspar scored a career-high 22 points, but it was not enough as the Rhode Island women's basketball team fell short 63-53 on Senior Day at the Ryan Center.
Rams Host Bonnies in Must-Win Senior Day Game [+]
Rhody needs a win to remain in contention for the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Rams are currently in a three-way tie (with Fordham and La Salle) for 12th place, with the top 12 teams qualifying for the tournament.

Three Rhody players scored in double figures, but it was not enough as the Rhode Island women's basketball team (9-19; 2-12 Atlantic 10) dropped a 75-56 decision to Dayton Wednesday night at UD Arena.

The last time Rhode Island and Dayton met, UD picked up a 46-36 win at the Ryan Center on Feb. 26, 2009. In that game, Megan Shoniker led the Rams with eight points.
