Rams Travel to Kent State on Sunday

Game Notes | Watch | Listen | Live Stats KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rams hit the road for a Nov. 29th game at Kent State. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. Rhode Island - which is 5-2 in the all-time series with Kent State - has won five of the last six meetings between the two teams dating back to the 1997-98 season. The last time the Rams and Golden Flashes met - on Dec. 22, 2007 - URI cruised to a 76-55 win at the Ryan Center. In that game, Megan Shoniker was one of four Rams to score in double figures (10pts) while Lindsay Harris dished out a team-high five assists. Sunday's matchup marks Kent State's first home game of the 2009-10 season. KSU is 3-1 to date with wins over Robert Morris (62-55), Youngstown State (70-55) and Florida Atlantic (84-66). In their victory over FAU on Tuesday night, the Golden Flashes shot 56.4% from the field and had four players score in double figures. Overall, KSU is shooting 43.7% on the season while averaging 36.2 rebounds per game. The Golden Flashes are led by two players averaging double figures in the scoring column - Jena Stutzman (10.8 ppg) and Jamila Humes (10.3 ppg). Yoshica Spears has led the team in rebounding in each of Kent State's four contests, averaging 9.3 boards per game. The Rams (2-3) picked up their second straight win on Friday with a 51-47 victory over NJIT. Three Rams - Megan Shoniker (13), Lara Gaspar (11) and Ashley Rivera (11) scored in double figures while Shoniker also dished out a game-high five assists and added seven rebounds. Lindsay Harris, meanwhile, matched her career-best rebounding performance for the second time this season with a game-high 12 boards. She also contributed eight points, three steals and three assists in the victory. As a team, the Rams held a 44-31 advantage on the boards.
