Game Notes | Listen | Gametracker

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's basketball team travels to Boston University to take on the Terriers at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night. The game will be televised, regionally, on NESN.

The game marks the 15th meeting all-time between the two squads with the Terriers holding a 8-6 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams last met in the 2008-09 season-opener, where BU posted a 50-45 win at the Ryan Center. Rhody's last victory over Boston University came in the form of an 82-67 win at home on Jan 22, 1986.

Their last time out, the Rams dropped a 74-48 decision to Fairfield in the season-opener for both squads. Lara Gaspar led the way for URI, recording her first career double-double on a team-high 13 points and a game-best 12 rebounds. Megan Shoniker also added 12 points and a game-high four assists for Rhody, which out-rebounded the Stags by a 38-29 margin.

Boston University also enters Wednesday's game looking for its first victory of the season as the Terriers were defeated, 92-58, in their season-opener at Kentucky before dropping a 79-73 overtime decision at Massachusetts on Saturday.

BU has yet to play a game on its home court - Case Gym - this season. There, the Terriers have won 25-of-26 contests over the last three seasons and are 21-1 against non-conference opponents in the last two years.

Boston University is led by Caitlynn Moran (15.0 ppg/5.0 rpg), Kristen Sims (10.5 ppg/4.0 rpg) and Aly Hinton (9.0 ppg/7.0 rpg).
