A jumper by Gaspar sparked a 6-0 Rhode Island push over the next two minutes, making the score 16-8 before CCSU's defense locked back down to force three URI turnovers and four missed shots over the next six minutes. The Rams used a late 15-5 run to pull to within seven (59-52) after senior Ebony Evans (Washington, D.C.) made good on a pair of foul shots but it was as close as Rhode Island would get as the Blue Devils held on for the 66-58 win.
