Johanna Wise joined the Rhode Island women's basketball staff as an administrative assistant before the start of the 2010-11 season.
Important to the day-to-day operations for the staff, Wise is a liaison between interdepartmental specialty offices within the Athletic and Academic departments as well as numerous other departments within and outside the University. She helps prioritize time commitments optimize the daily and weekly schedules for the staff, monitoring department calendars, meetings, recruiting visits, travel times and special events.
Wise maintains and controls confidential files and records of all staff, players, team mangers, recruits and job candidates. She also assists with the transition of incoming freshmen; ensuring all paperwork is completed in timely fashion.
Before coming to the University, Wise worked as an office manager for CVS/Pharmacy from 2007-10, and was an office/teacher/nurse assistant at Narragansett Elementary School from 2003-07 and at St. Peter's by the Sea Preschool from 2001-03. She also was a conference planner and catering coordinator with the AT&T Learning Center in Basking Ridge, N.J. in 1998-99.
An artist and gardener who enjoys rock climbing and hiking, Wise lived in Lake Tahoe for 15 years and taught skiing for 10 years at Squaw Valley.
