 Giving to URI Athletics Continues to Flourish Philanthropic giving to URI Athletics continues to remain strong. Over the past fiscal year, URI Athletics received over $1.5 million in total philanthropic support. This includes more than $713,000 in gifts to operational funds, a 2% increase from last fiscal year and the most ever received in this category. (more) Fast Break Club to Hold July 16 Event at Coast Guard House The Fast Break Club will honor head coach Jim Baron for his 2009 A-10 Coach of the Year award on Thursday, July 16 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Coast Guard House restaurant in Narragansett. (more) Annual Rams Legends Golf Tournament Set for June 22 The Annual Fast Break Club Rams Legends Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 22 at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, R.I. This year's honoree is Ram Legend Dennis McGovern. (more) Rhody Ram Spring Caravan Set to Kickoff on May 13 The University of Rhode Island Athletics Department and the URI Alumni Association are pleased to announce the first-ever Rhody Ram Spring Caravan Series, beginning on May 13 at the Waterplace Restaurant & Lounge in Providence. (more) URI Releases 2008-09 Regular Season Television Schedule URI will appear on TV 12 times, including three national broadcasts and a package of games produced by Cox Sports, during the 2008-09 regular season. (more) Annual Basketball Meet the Players Dinner to be Held on Oct. 29 The Rams' basketball squads will celebrate the start of their 2008-09 seasons on Oct. 28 at Quidnessett C.C. (more) URI Athletics shows 25% Spike in Private Support for Programs URI Athletics received a total of $1.6 million in philanthropic gifts during the 2007-08 fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008. That total marks a 25% increase in athletics-related giving from a year ago. (more) Mid-Summer Rhody Basketball Event to Be Held July 17 at Coast Guard House On Thursday, July 17 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., there will be a mid-summer gathering of Rhody basketball supporters at the Coast Guard House Restaurant. (more) Athletic Giving Fiscal Year-End Deadline June 30 The fiscal year-end mail appeal is being sent to donors this week. The deadline for priority point credit and donor recognition is June 30.
