Rams Place Eighth at BC Invitational

BOSTON -- The University of Rhode Island men's cross country team placed eighth at the Boston College Invitational at Franklin Park, this afternoon.
The Rams totalled 221 points for the meet. Syracuse won the team title, with 37 points.
Matthew Gallagher led URI with his 38th place finish. He covered the 8,000m course in a time of 26:15. Nathan Rucharmes was the second Ram to cross the finish line, clocking 26:21 - good for 40th place. Cornelius McCaffery (58th, 27:41), John Cuoco (66th, 28:00), and Jaymeson Kumm (70th, 28:37) rounded out the URI scorers. Michael Kazmierczak (77th, 28:55) and Stephen Salisbury (80th, 30:23) completed the Rhode Island finishers.
URI returns to action next week, on Sept. 21, at the Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, Conn.
