PRINCETON, N.J. -- Derek Peterson placed fifth in the discus throw at the 2009 IC4A Championship, held at the William Weaver Track & Field Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.

The Atlantic 10 and New England champion in the discus, Peterson registered a throw of 169-11 (51.79m).

He will next compete at the 2009 NCAA East Region Championship, held May 29-30 at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.
