In his time at URI, Yush has helped keep Rhode Island a regional power with his work ethic and tireless dedication. Responsible for the initial recruiting process, Yush helped put together another outstanding recruiting class for the 2007-08 season.

Yush stands out in his other coaching roles as well. Responsible for field events, his athletes garnered 42 Atlantic 10 individual championships, 10 All-New England individual championships and numerous ICAAAA qualifying performances.

Coach Copeland feels that he and Yush share a similar coaching philosophy. "I think we're both on the same page as far as our teaching approach goes," said Copeland. "We both try to work with the athletes on a one-on-one level."

Prior to coming to Rhode Island, Yush served as an assistant coach at Eastern Connecticut State from 1997-98 and took over as the Warriors' head coach in August of 1998. At ECSU, Yush helped develop several All-ECAC and All-New England performers as well as an All-American long jumper. Yush also served two seasons as the administrative assistant at Connecticut, his alma mater.

In his senior year at Connecticut, Yush served as team captain and helped lead the Huskies to a Big East and New England Championship. Yush was a consistent Big East scorer and an ICAAAA performer.

Yush has been certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and serves as the team's strength coordinator, as well as the baseball strength and conditioning coach. He also is a USATF Level II certified jumps, throws, sprints/hurdles and multi event coach. Additionally, Yush holds a B.S. in dietetics and has begun course work towards a Master's Degree in Sports Psychology.

Yush resides in Groton, Conn., with his wife, Kristal.
