KINGSTON, R.I. - For the fifth consecutive week, Rhode Island has collected Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field weekly honors. Rhode Island senior Jacob Reilly was named Field Performer of the Week while freshman Ryan Roger earned Rookie of the Week honors after their performance at the URI Coaches Tribute Invitational on Feb. 10. It is the first career indoor conference accolade for both individuals.
Reilly won the high jump at the Coaches Invitational. His first attempt of 2.02 meters (6'7.5") was a season best and is fifth in the conference.
Roger continues to improve each week in his main event- the shot put. He finished third (second collegian) at the Coaches Invite with a personal-best of 15.49 meters (50' 10") which currently is third in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Reilly, Roger, and the rest of the Rhode Island track and field squad return to the track this weekend to host the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship at Mackal Field House. Events begin at 9:00 a.m.
