KINGSTON, R.I. - Junior Casey Burley earned Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week honors for the third time this year, the league office announced Tuesday.
Burley earned this honor after setting new personal marks in both the long jump (24' 6.5") and the triple jump (49' 9.75"). Burley's long jump was the second-farthest in URI history, while his triple jump was the fourth-longest.
Burley shared Performer of the Week honors with George Mason's Ayo Raymond.
Burley is familiar with the Atlantic 10 weekly honors, especially in 2017. Burley earned A-10 Performer of the Week honors during the indoor season for the weeks of Jan. 10 and 17. These are the only three weekly awards of Burley's career.
Burley is the second Ram this outdoor season to receive this honor. Redshirt freshman Gregory McManus did so two weeks ago when he broke the school javelin record.
This is the 35th time that a Rhody athlete has earned outdoor performer of the week honors.
Burley and the rest of the Rams return to action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Princeton for the Larry Ellis Invitational. Day one is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
