KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rising sophomore Zach Campo competed at the USATF Junior National Championship, held on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa this past weekend.
Campo placed eighth overall in the 800m run, registering a time of 1:52.52. It was his second-fastest time of the season in the event, as he clocked a 1:52.32 in the preliminary round of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship on May 4. He finished sixth overall in the finals of the conference championship meet (1:54.22).
A biomechanics engineering major from South Kingstown, R.I., he also recorded an 800m split time of 1:50.0 as part of Rhode Island's 4x800m relay at the IC4A Championship on May 11.
