Rams Take Part in the Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - The Rhode Island men's track and field team concluded competition Saturday at the 2010 Terrier Invitational inside the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Junior David Kennedy led the way as he took sixth in the 400-meter dash, clocking a time of 48.31. Kennedy's time served as an IC4A qualifying mark and just missed the NCAA provisional standard of 48.25 seconds.
Kennedy also ran the anchor leg of the Rams' third-place 4x400-meter relay team, which clocked an IC4A qualifying time of 3:17.42.
Teammate Jacob Keeling also turned in an IC4A standard as he posted a toss of 16.20 meters in the shot put to place sixth.
In the high jump, freshmen Trent Baltzell and Rainford Thomas placed third and fourth, respectively as they notched jumps of 1.98m. Fellow rookie Jonathan Bartlett took third in the pole vault with a leap of 4.42m.
Rhody returns to action on Friday as it heads to the Yale-Gigengack Invitational in New Haven, Conn. The meet is set to begin at 4 p.m.
