Men's Tennis Finishes Seventh at Atlantic 10 Championship


 
Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Tournament To Be Held April 7-9 In Philadelphia, Pa.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The 2006 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship will crown the first of nine Atlantic 10 Spring champions this weekend, Apr. 7-9, at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA.

The Rams own a 8-10 record overall, and are 1-2 in the A-10, putting them in the 11th spot.  No. 1 Rob Sutphen (8-15), No. 2 Andrew Costin (10-15), and No. 3 Kevin Redmond (9-15) will be leading the Rams in the tournament.

Rhode Island takes on No. 6 Richmond in the first round of the tournament.  Richmond ended their season 11-12 overall, 0-2 in the A-10.  The Spiders will be defending two-straight A-10 Championship titles. Joining the Rams and Spiders in quest for the Atlantic 10 title are Dayton, Charlotte, Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis, Temple, and Xavier.

Play starts on Friday, Apr. 7 at 8:00am, with the final match of the day beginning at 8:00pm. On Saturday, Apr. 8, play begins at 8:00am and with the final match slated for 5:00pm. The seventh- and ninth-place matches of the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship will commence on Sunday, Apr. 9 at 8:00am. The third- and fifth place matches will follow at 11:00am, with the championship match closing out the event at 2:00pm.
