PHILADELPHIA - Rhode Island sophomore Dustin Parente (Barkhamsted, Conn.) lost to Cornell's Scott Paltrowitz 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday in the second round of the 2002 ITA Omni Hotels Eastern Regional Championships.

Paltrowitz was seeded 21st out of 128 players in the tournament. Parente defeated Yale's Matt Feldman in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 Friday to advance to the Round of 64.

Rhode Island senior Karl Antons (Libertyville, Ill.) and senior Dan Romeyn (Simsbury, Conn.) lost to Boston College's Brad Anderson and Justin Slattery 8-4. Anderson and Slattery later advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.
